Volunteer Opportunities

One Spark needs talented individuals with all kinds of skill sets to join our team as Volunteers. We'll find the right volunteer role for you based on your unique interests and skills.

Guides

One Spark Guides will be on the front lines of making sure attendees have a great experience. Guides will answer questions attendees have and help attendees find their way around the festival. Guides will also be responsible for alerting One Spark staff or the proper authorities to any problems that arise in their assigned area. There will be day and evening shifts to choose from. Minimum shift is four hours.

Duties:

  • Help One Spark attendees find their way around
  • Alert One Spark staff or other proper authorities to any problems in assigned area
  • Keep assigned area clean

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
  • Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
  • Strong customer service skills and all around happy personality

Creator Liaisons

Creator Liaisons will ensure that all our Creators have a great experience at One Spark 2015. Liaisons will man the registration desks as Creators arrive to check-in for One Spark. Liaisons will also be on the ground during the festival making sure Creators have all their questions answered and needs met. There will be day and evening shifts to choose from. Minimum shift is four hours.

Duties:

  • Answer Creator questions about One Spark
  • Check in on Creators during the festival
  • Register Creators as they arrive for One Spark

Requirements:

  • Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
  • Strong customer service skills

Customer Service And Registration Squad (CSARS)

One Spark's CSARS will be on the front lines of making sure attendees have a great experience. CSARS will man the Creators registration desk April 6 & 7 and the customer service kiosks/tables throughout the festival. CSARS will answer questions attendees have and help attendees find their way around the festival. There will be day and evening shifts to choose from. Minimum shift is four hours.

Duties:

  • Answer attendees questions about One Spark and the voting process
  • Help One Spark attendees find their way around
  • Register Creators on April 6 & 7
  • Staff customer service kiosks/tables located throughout the festival

Requirements:

  • Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)
  • Strong customer service skills

Media Moguls

We will be using all types of media to promote and document One Spark. We need talented photographers, videographers, graphic designers and video editors to help us create innovative social media and web content. There will be day and evening shifts to choose from. Minimum shifts for photographers and videographers are four hours (shorter shifts will be available for small events leading up to One Spark).

Duties:

  • Document the festival using photography and videography
  • Interview attendees and creators about their experience at One Spark
  • Assist in the creation of social media and web content
Requirements:
  • Graphic design experience a plus
  • Photographers and videographers need the ability to stand for four-hour shifts
  • Radio or TV experience a plus
  • Video editing experience a plus
  • Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)

Stage Crew

The Stage Crew will support One Spark's three stages- one music stage and two Pitch Decks where creators will be pitching their ideas. There will be day and evening shifts to choose from. Minimum shift is four hours.

Duties:

  • Assist in setup and breakdown of stages
  • Help bands and Creators get set up
  • Troubleshoot problems that arise

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds or more
  • Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
  • Stagehand experience a plus
  • Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)

Tech Crew

The Tech Crew will support any tech needs for Pitch Decks and Voting & Information Kiosks. There will be day and evening shifts to choose from. Minimum shift is four hours.

Duties:

  • Assist in setup of wireless hotspots and computer-based presentations on Pitch Decks
  • Troubleshoot tech problems that arise

Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for four-hour shifts
  • Tech background or knowledge
  • Attend one-hour training in March (dates TBD)

Group Volunteering

From corporate volunteers to alumni organizations to your regular group of friends, all types of groups are encouraged to volunteer together at One Spark 2015. Last year's group volunteers included Citi , Bank of America and Team SMG . We can even arrange special volunteer trainings for groups with 25+ volunteers to make volunteering more convenient for your organization.
